Black Tie Winners!

Posted by Sandra Beggs on

On Saturday night David, all our staff, and I,  attended the Duncan / Cowichan Chamber of Commerce Black Tie Award Ceremony.  We decided to make it an "evening" as we hadn't had time for a staff Christmas Party. We treated our staff and their spouses to a ticket and everyone showed up dressed to the nines...there were hundreds in attendance.  It was beautifully and skillfully catered at Brentwood College and every detail of the evening was taken care of.

Those of us who had been short-listed were marched in to some groovy music and  then there was a group  photo of the finalists.  After that we sat down to watch the awards ceremony.  It was so much fun to see the winners names called after the "secret ballot" was opened by the sponsors.  As the evening proceeded, I  whispered to David..."What if we actually win...?!?  We don't have a speech prepared!"  He agreed that if we were lucky enough to win that he would say something for both of us.  Up until the moment they called our names I really could not picture us winning this award.  But... Business Achievement with 1 - 10 Employees was the amazing award we won.  We were thrilled and our staff is over the moon. What a night!

Thanks to all our loyal customers for supporting us and for all the cyclists who keep showing up  for our group  rides and races.

Gullyvers travels

I've crisscrossed the globe as a competitor for many years, but I rarely ventured beyond the mountain resorts that contests are held in. As I get older, I've started pushing to escape the industry bubble and get off the beaten path more. — Gully
